A while back as a proof of concept for a future project, we did some tests with Pix2Pix to generate Sushi using Tensorflow.

What was really interesting was how simple it was to install Tensorflow and train using the Pix2Pix framework, and just how few training images were needed to train it to generate images of a reasonable quality.

We had the Tokyo ZOO graciously submit a total 60 drawings of various pieces of sushi and trained the model over a weekend. The most challenging thing about the whole project was learning how to setup a virtual server to run the generation back end as we had very little experience with PHP and Linux.
